Dunoon Burgh Hall Trust (DBHT) is looking for up to four new Trustees to help strengthen the oversight and leadership needed as we continue with our five-year recovery strategy.
DBHT is a charity and a limited company, led by a Board of Trustees/Company Directors who are responsible for setting and overseeing the strategic direction, governance and financial probity of the Trust. The operational management and fundraising are led, managed and delivered through our staff team who are further supported by volunteers from many backgrounds with experience in many roles.
Previous experience in a similar type of role could be useful but is not crucial. There are, however, certain skills which are essential for all Trustees such as the ability to exercise good judgement, to research and ask probing questions, to understand management reports and accounts, and to contribute to objective strategic decision-making.
We really want to hear from people who are over 18 yrs of age, who are enthusiastic, have an altruistic mindset and a willingness to involve themselves in aspects of strategic charitable work that they may or may not currently know much about.
If you are resident in the Cowal Peninsula and believe you could fulfil this role, the Trust would like to hear from you. We can offer training and mentoring to people who have not had previous board level experience.
Applications are being sought in particular from people who have knowledge and experience in areas such as finance, human resources, Scottish charity law, fundraising or running successful businesses as this will add to the balance and scope of skills and experience within our board
