Alan Bissett’s classic ‘one woman show’ is back for its first performances anywhere in three years.

In this hilarious double-bill you’ll meet Moira Bell, cleaner, single mother, and the hardest woman in Falkirk. Whether defending her wee dug Pepe from next door’s rottweiler, cleaning posh folks’ hooses, or belting out Diana Ross for the Scotia karaoke night, Moira is hypnotic, frightening and heart-warming company.

Based on the stories and characters Alan encountered growing up in Falkirk, Moira, her long-suffering pal Babs, her neighbour (Bawface), her laddies (gid laddies, but they canny take their hash) and her wee dug Pepe, have left audiences all over the country weak with laughter.

Warning. Contains strong language

“A near-perfect series of monologues, both howlingly funny and unnervingly sharp and poetic.” – 5***** The Scotsman

“Such a riot my ears popped a couple of times from the row behind me shouting with laughter.” 5***** The National

“Welcome back, Moira. We missed you.” – 5***** Broadway Baby

“Great hilarity, simple truths and some profound moments too: it’s no wonder Moira has such a loyal following.” – 4**** The List

Afterwards, Alan will be DJ-ing his Hoose Perty, a club night he popularised online during lockdown, where he plays the best upbeat bangers from across the decades and genres –Bowie to Beyonce, Primal Scream to Prince – to get your feet moving and your hips shaking.  It’s a night out for folks who don’t get out as much they used to!
