Best exhibit in floral display, Rothesay
A series of Kodak photographs kindly donated by the Murchison family.
Angus’ granddaughter Moira says that he made up his own recipe to feed his flowers to ensure that they lasted longer! She remembers that as a child she wasn’t allow in the big bedroom when the flower shows were on because of the displays.
Donald Murchison, Angus’ father, was also a successful grower. He was the gardener at Dhalling Mhor in Kirn. Angus and his brother would help out in the gardens and market garden at Dhalling Mhor. Angus’s daughters and their cousins also spent happy times helping up there as children. On display are his medals dated between 1905 and 1922.
