John Jameson of the Irish whiskey family, was born in 1941 in Cheshire. At the age of 19, he went to sea as crew on the ship Lochinvar and continued delivering yachts. He became a sailing instructor and skipper at the Island Cruising Club, and a manager at the Glenans sailing School in France. Later, he moved back to the UK, where he worked as Derbyshire Education County Sailing Master, and was the Scottish National Sailing Coach for 17 years. In 2000 he set off to sail around the world aboard a Polynesian Catamaran.

John will be talking about what he learned and the challenges he experienced when circumnavigating on a ‘raft’.
