This is an old event
Bring your dancing shoes, and join us for an evening of Bombastic 50’s pop, Country Gospel, Dancefloor Rock n’ Roll and Doo Wop from Glaswegian 4 piece The Shiverin’ Sheiks! This promises to be an evening not to be missed.
The band came to national prominence on a UK tour with Glasvegas, introducing mainstream audiences to their sound. After this The Sheiks released their 1st single on Brewdog Records, the new venture by craft brewers Brewdog. The record label has been started to bring recognition to underground bands with a cult following who had so far escaped mainstream notoriety. They completed a successful year by being asked to be the house band on BBC Radio Scotland’s Hogmanay show after several successful BBC Radio sessions. The band made their TV debut when they were chosen to help launch STV’s Riverside show and regularly featured on the show.
Their debut album A Curious Case Of The Shiverin’ Sheiks was released on Holy Smokes Records and received airplay on national and regional radio in the UK and overseas and The Sheiks made their Glastonbury debut in 2015.
The members of this Glasgow 4 piece have been at the vanguard of roots music in Scotland for the past decade. A dynamite live band honed on an old school diet of playing 6 nights a week, they present an original take on music from the atomic age, the prohibition era and British beat music. This is all presented with a decidedly un-British combination of showmanship, panache and ruthless musical delivery.
