An immersive installation from Jura based artists Giles Perring and Andy Metcalf

Friday 18th June - Sunday 18th July 2021   (Wednesday - Sunday, 10am - 4pm).

Exposure is a poly-disciplinary, immersive exhibition and installation, that has been created on Jura, and which will exhibit here in the Burgh Hall during June and July 2021.

The project has explored the brute nature of landscape, human subjectivity and the critical importance of collaboration and sociality in shaping our creations. The work has originated on the Isle of Jura through a creative dialogue between photographer, musician and sound artist Giles Perring and filmmaker and painter Andy Metcalf.

Exposure harnesses video, painting, 35mm and medium format photography, text, performance, sound and music, to depict the many facets of the uneasy experience of a harsh island environment – be that emotional, existential, ecological, or elemental.

Giles Perring: Musician, composer and record producer, cross media artist and founder member of the sonic sculpture collective Echo City. His career spans recordings and performances, but also photography, written work, video three dimensional objects and giant instruments. Recent work includes his newly unveiled World Organ installation.
