Description

Learn how to make bunting from reclaimed fabrics and continue the long tradition of women's protest and action on social and environmental issues using textiles.

This workshop will be hosted by Anne Armstrong and Lennie Pearson. Anne is an experienced quilter who makes useful and beautiful things out of reclaimed textiles. Lennie is the manager of Oxfam in Dunoon and is a dab hand with a sewing machine. Lennie will be bringing along lots of gorgeous floral fabrics from the Oxfam shop.

You will make 5 meters of bunting for yourself. And you will use your skills to help us create 100m of bunting for Dunoon Community Development Trust. This bunting will be used in the Trust’s new ‘Creating a Climate of Change’ programme that will be launched in March. These new activities will start conversations about the use and management of local green spaces and biodiversity to support our community’s health and wellbeing.

About the event
