A special chance to see a rare reunion of contemporary jazz-funk ensemble, d s murray quartet, play original compositions from guitarist D.S. Murray, featuring drummer Stuart Brown (of Dunoon Jazz Festival 2018 favourites, Brian Molley Quartet) with guest percussionist and Glasgow rare groove DJ, Ed Higgins.

 

d s murray quartet formed in Glasgow in 1994 to perform the music of composer/guitarist D. S. Murray. The band have performed at a range of venues across the UK, including many appearances at the Glasgow International Jazz Festival, Dunoon Jazz Festival and Lemon Tree, Aberdeen.

 

Their critically-acclaimed album, Home Movies, was released in 1999 on KRL Records.

 

The band will be joined by renowned percussionist Ed Higgins who will also be playing choice cuts from his extensive hoard of jazz, funk and rare groove vinyl.
