DIVAS AT DUNOON FILM FESTIVAL - A selection of films, old and new, featuring compelling female leads with a dose of flare and feistiness.
Published: 26 October 2018
Catch one of Italian cinemas ultimate Diva’s, Francesca Bertini, in opening night film Assunta Spina featuring an irresistible new live soundtrack by six-piece Edinburgh band The Badwills. Other compelling and feisty female leads across the programme include a shining Joan Crawford in The Woman; Catherine (Jeanne Moreau) in Francois Truffaut’s fast, funny and stylish new wave classic, Jules et Jim, a modern woman driven only by her desires; and upcoming star Ella Hunt as the eponymous lead in zombie musical mash-up Anna and the Apocalypse. Plus, one of Scotland’s most loveable films Gregory’s Girl (where it’s definitely the women who call the shots) which will be followed by an ‘80s disco. Big hair and shoulder pads at the ready!
