Artist Paul Knight has recently moved to the area and he has a beautiful exhibition of prints and ceramics on display in our small gallery.
Join Paul this Saturday, 15th March, between 2pm and 3pm to learn more about his fascinating work and enjoy a cheeky glass of wine and nibbles.
This is how Paul describes his creative process:
My making is simply play. My motivation arises from a habit of gathering objects to prevent their disintegration. Sometimes they gather themselves and play together and form sculptures that have something to say.
My printmaking derives from the compassion for the being itself, these creatures are threatened by our actions. It’s also about the flow of the pen over the surface of the paper. Most of all its the spaces between that give me joy, and who doesn’t have fond memories of colouring in? It that simple.
My ceramic works just seem to happen. The naked fear and excitement of the raku processes reflect life. It’s about giving freely of myself to strangers.
Paul is a member of the Scottish Ceramics Society, Cowal Open Studios and Glasgow Print Studio.
