This is an old event

Join the SCO Wind Soloists on a musical cruise to shores far and wide. After setting sail with Gipps’ warmly evocative Seascape, Gallic wit awaits us in the form of Françaix’s delicious Quartet. There’s a touch of Middle Eastern exoticism from Caplet’s Persian Suite and a reminder of home in the Trio by Kevin McCrae (a former SCO cellist) before we land on the eastern shore of the States for Bird’s joyous Serenade, a true gem of the wind music repertoire.

GIPPS Seascape (07’)

FRANÇAIX Quatuor (10’)

CAPLET Suite Persane (20’)

Interval (20′)

McCRAE Trio (10’)

BIRD Serenade Op 40 (20’)

MENDELSSOHN Scherzo from A Midsummer Night’s Dream (04′)
