Everyone here at the Hall was saddened to hear of the passing of Dave McEwan Hill.
Dave was one of the first people to see the potential of bringing the Burgh Hall back to life and he campaigned to that end. He became a volunteer helper after John McAslan purchased the Hall in 2008, and served on our board for a short period after joining in 2020.
Our Chairman, Bruce Marshall, recalls Daves absolute commitment over many years to the resurrection of Dunoon Burgh Hall for the benefit of the Cowal community. Bruce said “I have known Dave for at least 40 years and while on a political front we were diametrically opposed, we were never not on speaking terms. Dave was especially gifted in his ability to express himself – both in person, and in print.”
Dave will be missed by many in our community, including the DBH team and trustees and our thoughts are with Avril, Layla and all his family at this time.
