Dunoon Film Festival will celebrate the history of Dunoon and the Clyde through a number of free screenings and events. Doon the Watter is a beautifully crafted mix of family films, archive footage, spoken word and live music – the perfect opportunity to reminiscence, chat and relive the happy summers before the advent of package holidays! Plus, take a nostalgic promenade to classic British holiday resorts in Britain: Coast and Sea and experience a rare insight into Scotland’s war efforts in a selection of archive footage to mark the centenary of WW1 in World War 1 Archive.

We are also thrilled to welcome Trevor Griffiths, who talk us through the career of Glasgow-born Billie Ritchie, who was for a time during the First World War, a star in his own right. Billed as ‘The Man Who Makes the World Laugh’, Ritchie can truly be called Scotland’s first international film star.
