DELIGHT AT DUNOON FILM FESTIVAL 2018 - A selection of family friendly films and workshops sure to delight even the youngest film fans.

Published: 24 October 2018

Dunoon Film Festival offers something for all ages, including the youngest cinema-goers, with Shorts for Wee Ones, a free screening of magical tales to delight anyone over the age of 3. We encourage you to bring blankets, soft toys and a picnic to the screening to make yourself comfortable! The Dunoon Burgh Hall cafe downstairs in the hall will be open so grown-ups can enjoy a coffee and cake after the screening.

Other family friendly films on offer include a unique ‘scratch and sniff’ screening of Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit; of the favourite fantasy films of all time, the 1958 classic, The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad & other fantastic tales; plus, a historical adventure with early Celts, Picts, Scotti and a few Vikings thrown in for good measure, in Fyne Side Story, all filmed by young people in locations around the Cowal peninsula.

Budding filmmakers are in for a treat as Jim Parkyn, one of Aardman Animation’s senior model makers (who has worked on The Shaun the Sheep Movie, Chicken Run and The Pirates! to name a few) will run an Animation Workshop. Plus, camera phones at the ready - bring a little bit of imagination to the Mobile Phone Filmmaking Workshop and learn how to take those important first steps.
