On Sunday 24th July, join us for some fabulous FREE outdoor family fun: Aerial Performances & Taster Sessions with All or Nothing, the Story Wagon, amazing arts & crafts and outdoor play activities!
Following the success of our Family Fun Days last summer, we return to Dunoon Primary School playground with some more wonderful outdoor events, with something for everyone to enjoy.
Entry is free but children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
Watch Fly Come Try: Experience the thrills and spills of aerial circus with the All or Nothing team, who brought us The Swings last summer. Be inspired by a breathtaking aerial performance high above your heads, then get the chance to try it out for yourself. Throughout the day we’ll be performing short spectacular aerial acts with walk up taster sessions in between on the aerial equipment. Led by professional aerialists, the taster sessions are for all ages and abilities.
You can watch Aerial Performances at 12pm, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm and try a flying taster session afterwards. Come and say hello and fly with us! We will run sensory sessions for those with additional support and/or physical needs. These sessions will be at 1.15pm. These slots will have some extra support from our friends at Waterbaby Arts. Please book your place as these use special equipment so numbers are strictly limited.
Story Wagon: A place for everyone to come together and make stories happen! 2022 is Scotland’s Year of Stories and the Story Wagon has been touring Scotland offering people creative writing, traditional storytelling and story sharing activities. This is the wagon’s very first visit to Dunoon.
You can drop into the Story Wagon throughout the afternoon or join a Magic Story Circle! Sharing stories can be a wonderful experience but story making is where the real magic happens. Come and help story maker Luke Winter create a brand-new tale and let’s see where our collective imagination can take us… Story Circles are group activities for everyone at 12.30pm, 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm.
Arts and Crafts Activities: Local artist Alyson Dawes will deliver some colourful and creative drop in arts and crafts activities throughout the afternoon. Activities are designed for all ages and abilities and will encourage outdoor play.
Pocket Money Tuck Shop: Refreshments will be available on-site.
Please note, in the event of inclement weather, this event will be moved indoors to Dunoon Burgh Hall. Please watch our social media for details.
This event has been funded by Creative Scotland. Thanks to our friends at Dunoon Primary School, Argyll & Bute Council and Waterbaby Arts for supporting this event.
