BURRELL’S RENAISSANCE:

The Burrell Collection is an internationally renowned art museum located in Pollok Country Park on the south side of Glasgow. The Exhibition will be a celebration of the reopening of the Burrell Collection in Spring 2022 after its £68.25 million transformation. Consisting of a collection of fine and decorative arts from over 6,000 years of civilisation, amassed and donated to the City of Glasgow in 1944 by the Scottish shipping merchant and philanthropist Sir William Burrell, the architects, John McAslan + Partners will complete the transformation of the original museum in Spring 2022.

This exhibition will present the history of the Burrell Collection and its transformation into one of the world’s most accessible art museums. It will focus on the architectural transformation of the building using drawings, models, film footage and other material. This includes the original model from Glasgow Life built by the architects in the 1970s.

Gallery is open Wednesday to Sunday, 10.00am to 4.00pm. Admission is Free.
