This is an old event
Alan Bissett is an award-winning novelist, playwright and performer from Falkirk, who now lives in Renfrewshire. He is most well-known for the novels Boyracers and Death of a Ladies’ Man, and his ‘one-woman show’ The Moira Monologues, in which he played Falkirk’s hardest woman.
He entertained himself (and others!) on lockdown with his online Hoose Perties, but now he is dipping his toe back into the live arena. As well as treating us to extracts from his recent, innovative novella Lazy Susan – in which a young, Scottish social-media influencer tries to navigate a tricky weekend of partying – Alan will be premiering a work-in-progress, his first novel in ten years, The Coven and the Drowners, about contemporary witches.
Be the very first live, in-person audience to hear this radical new direction for one of Scotland’s most enjoyable and provocative writers.
This event is presented in partnership with Book Week Scotland and Live Literature.
Suitable for Ages 14+
