Dunoon, get ready, Janey Godley is ‘still alive, by popular demand’ for ‘One Night Only’ after her record-breaking Scottish tour and can’t wait to be back doing what she does best! More hilarious anecdotes, straight from the woman that wouldn’t die and shut up.
Scotland’s international cultural phenomenon Janey Godley has grown from successful stand-up comedian to bestselling author and now to an internet sensation, with over 50 million online hits for her iconic voice-over videos and acclaim even from Scotland’s First Minister.
Winning comedy awards in the UK and New Zealand, she has been called “the Godmother of Scottish comedy” (The Scotsman), “the most outspoken female stand-up in Britain” (Daily Telegraph) and the New York Times said she delivered “some of the sharpest-elbowed comedy in the world”.
In 2023 she was presented with the Billy Connelly, Spirit of Glasgow Award.
During 2023, Janey’s stand-up tour, ‘Not Dead Yet’ played to capacity audiences, and got rave reviews. Not bad considering she was also undergoing chemo at the same time.
2024 is already a busy year for Janey, with her second biography due to be published in April, and a documentary about her life, is due to be released both in cinemas and on BBC Scotland.
Janey will also be touring her new Stand-up show as well as performing in Dunoon as part of the Burgh Hall’s 150th birthday celebrations.
She says: “I am an over friendly cleaner who talks too much. Come join me!”
