When Dunoon Burgh Hall was built in 1876 it was paid for by public subscription - 400 local business people donated £10 each to establish the first theatre in Argyll. Now, more than 130 years on, we hope that the public will once again help to fund the creation of a new cultural hub for Dunoon and Cowal.

By supporting our Burgh Hall Fundraising Campaign you can help with:
• the creation of a warm, fully-accessible community venue
• the restoration of key historic features
• the development of volunteer and training opportunities
• the development of an exciting intergenerational cultural programme

We have designed a fun collection of sponsorship options to suit many budgets. We hope you will consider giving a little (or a lot) to support the restoration of key elements of the building. You might even give a sponsorship item as an interesting gift for someone special, someone far away or in memory of a loved one. The choice is all yours!

Help us to raise the roof
There are literally thousands of tiles to be restored or replaced on our great expanses of roof and, just like our many supporters, every one is important. For a donation of just £5 you can help add a new tile to the collection and make our beautiful, stately building watertight once again.
Reward: Your name will listed as a Raise the Roof supporter on our website.

Treading the boards & cutting a rug
Revitalise our original stage & dance floor Thousands of people remember treading the boards on our stage and cutting a rug on our dance floor and the wear and tear is there to show for it. Donate £10 to help restore or replace a floorboard and bring the golden days of ballroom dancing back to Dunoon Burgh Hall.
Reward: You will get a certificate thanking your for your support and your name will be listed as a Treading the Boards supporter on our website.

Save our mysterious ‘Lady in the Attic’
While preparing the building for refurbishment we discovered a beautiful sketch on the plasterwork in our attic, hidden beneath years of layers of wallpaper. Donate £20 to help sponsor our efforts to rescue our Mysterious Lady and preserve her image for the future.
Reward: Receive a set of 5 postcards of our Mysterious Lady to share with your friends and your name will be listed as a Mysterious Lady supporter on our website.

Restore a beautiful vintage balcony seat
There are 40 elegant seats waiting to be brought back in to use on our fabulous balcony. For a donation of £50 you can ensure that one is restored to its former glory.
Reward: A brass plaque with a short message of your choice will be fixed to your restored chair and you will be invited to a pre-opening reception. Your name will also be listed as a Beautiful Balcony supporter on our website.

Give a Robert Stewart mural a new home
For just £100 you can be one of a select group to help us give a new home to a unique mural by this important Scottish artist with very strong Cowal connections. The mural is currently in storage at Glasgow School of Art.
Reward: A permanent plaque located in the entrance
hallway will credit each of our Robert Stewart sponsors and you will be our special guest at a pre-opening reception to unveil the mural in its new home. You will also receive a limited edition print of the mural and your name will be listed as a Robert Stewart Supporter on our website.

Revive our gargoyle (or grotesque) & his stonework friends
For a generous donation of £200 you can choose one of our special exterior stonework features to be restored in your name. Which do you prefer - the mouse, the bird or a carved monogram?
Reward: A permanent plaque located in the entrance hallway will credit each of our stonework sponsors and you will be our special guest at a pre-opening reception to unveil the restored stonework features. You will also receive a limited edition print of our Gargoyle by artist Colm Docherty and your name will be listed
as a Gargoyle Supporter on our website.

Restore our stained glass window & help our Viking get his beard back
Donate £200 and be part of select group to support the restoration of the 14 panels in our beautiful stained glass window. Or for £500 be the one special sponsor who can claim our stained glass Viking as their very own private restoration contribution.
Reward: A permanent plaque located in the main hall will credit each of our stained glass sponsors and you will be our special guest at a pre-opening reception to unveil the restored window. You will also receive a limited edition print of the window and your name will be listed as a Stained Glass Window Supporter on our website. Leave a legacy

Have you considered leaving a legacy in your will for a local charity?

Please help the Dunoon Burgh Hall for the next generation and make a real difference for our local community and for local people.

It is surprisingly easy to include a legacy in your will, and if your estate on death exceeds the UK inheritance tax threshold there are additional benefits in leaving part of your estate to a registered charity.

If you would like to talk to someone, in confidence, about remembering Dunoon Burgh Hall Trust in your will please contact us.
